Missionary Partners Foundation in Costa Rica

A Faith and Prayers Ministry

I just want to say: “Thank you!”

Aug• 01•11

Oh, put God to the test and see how kind He is!  See for yourself the way His mercies shower down on all who trust in him.  Psalms 34:8.

Thank you Partners for your kind donations sent in July.  Those funds were transferred by wire to our Foundation at the beginning of August.

We are grateful to Tom Amos, the treasurer of the church in Avon Park, Florida, for all his helpful work forwarding the donations to us.  It only takes a day or two after our local bank posts the credits until the distribution is made to the various families, students, and schools.

Kathryn Beatty, thank you for what you send monthly for Misael Cargill.  In addition to what you sent, we were able to add to that and now Misael’s last quarter of the school year is paid in full.  That has been a special prayer of mine for several months.  Praise God for this answer!   Kathryn, we have heard about the stroke you suffered a few days ago.  You are in our prayers for a good and full recovery; we hope you can go home from the hospital in Medford very soon.

Lyndon and Sue DeWitt, once again your monthly help has arrived for Maria
Maria Ellis & Joshua

Ellis Solano and her boy, Joshua.  They are now living with a couple where Maria does house work for them.  We are grateful also for the generosity from Dr. and Mrs. Paul Genstler who sent their gift for Maria Ellis and son in June.  Thanks to my mother, Virginia Lynch also.  This particular case of need drew a very good response for which we are warmly grateful.

Elmer Eubanks, your funds for Brenda Briselda Chamulo Mendez reached us.  We hope that she has been able to persuade the college to grant her a little more grace-time to cover the pending debt.  Perhaps your initial donation for her will be seen in “good faith”—let’s trust that they remember that your Dad was once president of this same college.

Janet Johnson, your greatly appreciated second installment on Leyanis Rodriguez’ studies down in Colombia has been paid at her university and she continues advancing nicely in her chosen field.  With the extra amount provided by Barry and Debi, Leyanis is also able to have a laptop now—a tool that is very important for students in every part of the world.

Barry & Debra McBroom, thank you once again for all you do representing this ministry in the States and mailing out the missionary letters every month.  Your donations are much appreciated for we know how the Recession is impacting you as well as others of our Partners.  With what you sent, we can pretty well cover Hugo Rivas’ university bill for the coming quarter.  This has been a struggle for him and the family but a very worthy struggle which we are willing to sacrifice for.

Paul and Ronda Erhard, and sons Josh and Zack, I was really glad for your visit to my home near Alajuela a short time ago.  It would have been great to see your sons too.  The digital cameras are being put to use now to get our photo file up to date.  I’m sure the Partners will appreciate seeing new pictures and not the same old ones used repeatedly; our children and youth tend to grow rapidly on rice and beans!  Your sacrificial giving these past months has meant very much to us.  Thanks for taking up a helpful part of the budget slack again in July.  May God repay you wonderfully well in your home and in your business.

William and Mavis Sager, your loving kindness to Berta Molina is faithfully sent and gratefully received month by month.  Thank you on her behalf and may her advancement bring you much joy.

There is a real missionary-minded health practice called Back and Neck Treatment Center which for a number of years has been sending solid donations to help the Berkshire Adventist Academy and School out on the island of Guanaja off the Caribbean coast of Honduras.

We ask God to fortify your Center and bless the business with needed income while also making it possible for you to continue helping Principal
Rigo Dawkins and his teachers at your chosen mission school.  Thank you Thomas Giampa and thank you Donald and Rosemarie Runnalls for the generous backing to Berkshire.

Barbara and David Thompson and Beverly Turner are also faithful friends of the Berkshire School.  Your donations are a real encouragement to Pastor Rigoberto Dawkins and the teachers.  It is so satisfying each year to see the children able to continue studying at that mission school.  Your kindness done for the students and the school is also done for Jesus and the Father just as He says in the Bible.

There is a special group of supporters who as often as they can—some on a regular monthly basis— send us donations to apply “where they are needed most”.

I know you have seen the specific cases presented in the missionary letters but you know that many of them do not get connected with any sponsor.  That is where your gifts come into play!

Floyd and Alejandra Courtney, you have a young man in Honduras to help, but you are also so very kind to us with the list of cases in Costa Rica.

Neva Gregory, for years you have kept a warm spot in your heart for this mission field where your David and Joyce once were my fellow workers.

Theresia Harwood, Evart and Eloise Tinker, Donald and Kathryn Van Vranken, your blessed donations come to us like the fish and loaves which Jesus multiplied on that hillside in Galilee for the 5000 hungry folks.

Lida Mae Lucas, Donald and Arlie Smith, Claude and Doris Sterling, Jesus also fed another crowd of 4000 and I see you providing for that with what you have lovingly shared.  These are the miracles I pray for month by month and year after year.  God bless you each one beyond all you can imagine.

Thomas Hanson, Jack and Ramona Sturgill, Chester and Susan Harris, and various others from
the churches where I grew up, how special it is to have the home tie with you each one.

There are some who give donations for Missionary Partners through the Yreka church treasury and that never fails.  I am thinking of Laura Roberts  up there who is my mother’s age and has taken a bone-crunching fall in recent days.  I ask God once again to mend her and relieve the pain.  I send you love and never-ending thanks for being so faithful to “your missionary” over all these 40+ years in Central America.

God bless you everyone and reward your kindnesses to His children.
–Mike

Letter of appreciation from Maria Ellis for the wonderful help she has received and continues to receive.
